eSports are a new type of sports where athletes compete playing videogames. First of all, it is important to understand the world of eSports. There are different kinds of gaming modes, depending on the game: multiplayer, battle arena, etc.

eAthletes can be seen in the same way as traditional athletes: winning a match means having fast reflexes, good concentration and the right mentality. Moreover, eAthletes, exactly like traditional athletes, take part in trainings and are followed by a team of sports psychologists and experts giving advices to them.

The big difference with traditional sports is that each team compete in different games, they are not specialized exclusively in one. The organization of eSports clubs reflects this melting pot of games: fans are usually not interested in just one videogame, but follow several of them.

The interest of the audience for a certain videogame changes over time and, therefore, new games are played in competitions, while others disappear. In fact, clubs receive new requests from publishers that want them to play their game, since this gives a huge visibility to their product. The most popular games attract so many fans that they stay on edge for a long time, without losing their popularity.
For sure, we will see the popularity of eSports growing more and more in the next years, since they are able to bring a completely new concept of sports.
