181129 Lars on sportdata & performance conference in Budapest!

I got to spend the last two days in Budapest at the 5th Annual Sportdata and Performance Forum. It was super interesting to hear how different discplines are utilzing technology and data to improve performance, player safety and tesm dynamics.
And what do I think of the future myself?
With the growing availability of data it will be critical to find the right balance between using data to guide decisions but not taking it as the only solution. Data without context can seem to be telling us one thing but when viewed with all other variables taken into account may lead to a very different outcome.
In the future big data in sports will allow us to develop equipment to improve safety and performance for athletes off all levels, make individualized decision about training and competition to harness every athletes maximum potention, and find ways to improve global health through accessible and accurate monitoring and motivation methods.
We might find new ground breaking crossovers if we use data the right way.
